When selecting the power capacity of your IPS, the most common way is by calculating the loads the IPS will be backing up. You will need the following information to size your IPS:

                                   

  • List the equipment and the equipment’s Power Usage / operating
    Voltage requirements.
  • List the voltages the IPS will be plugged into.
  • Determine how long the IPS will need to power this equipment during power failure.
  • Determine the desired power margin for future expansion.
  • Is Parallel redundancy level required?
